Gain Control over Your Keys

03/28/2014 Back To Blog

When keys are lost, your security walks out the door, too. Keys make sure the door locks are secured and protect our private worlds, families and valuables. It's not accidental that most cabinets, drawers, suitcases and other things we use daily have locks operated with codes or traditional keys. They are important for our overall security and lockout problems, protect our children, employees, precious things and our private environments.

  • The main role of most keys is to ensure security door locks will keep out burglars. The bolt might be fine but if the key has distortions, it will not fit in the lock, won't rotate and, naturally, won't lock the door.
  • Keys will also ensure that your children are safe from tools, detergents, medicine or hazardous products. Though, if the keys fall into kids' hands, the cabinet locks will open and the young ones will be in jeopardy.
  • Keys will also protect employees from strangers with bad intentions and office valuables from employees and visitors.
  • Keys will keep jewels, papers, medical records and other important stuff found in every home and office secure.

How and why key care is needed

External and internal threats are controlled by keys. Lost house keys will not only lock you out but, if stolen, they will compromise your home's security. For the same reason, the security of your company and vehicle will also be compromised and broken office keys will just delay your work or even put you in trouble. Despite the fact that keys get lost easily, it won't hurt to take extra good caution with them. Keep them at the bottom of your purse, avoid putting them in the pocket of your jacket, make duplicates and don't leave them just anywhere. If you don't want to deal with broken keys and, consequently, an office lockout, make sure they are replaced occasionally. Old keys will erode; their jaws might be distorted and you won't be able to use them. When they are lost, it won't do you any good to simply replace them. Key change will be the best solution or the original key will be used by some strangers who dared to steal them from your pockets.
